Head of Department’s Word

Mathematics is one of the most important sciences, as it deals with shapes, quantities, and how to organize them.
It is the fundamental element of everything in our daily lives. Mathematics is essential in many fields due to its
ability to create mathematical models that can describe or predict behaviors. We can clearly observe mathematics
in computers, accounting, economics, and engineering in its various branches.
The Department of Mathematics was established in 2011 at the College of Education with the aim of preparing and
qualifying graduates as teachers in secondary and vocational schools. The department awards a Bachelor of Science
degree in Mathematics, enabling graduates to teach mathematics courses as well as preparing them for postgraduate
studies. We dedicate all our resources to contribute to the academic and research development of our students.
At the time of its establishment, despite the small number of staff members, not exceeding seven, they carried
out the great responsibility placed upon them. With faith and perseverance, the department successfully graduated
10 cohorts of students. Moreover, our department achieved first place at the university level for the academic
years 2015–2016 and 2019–2020. With the continuous growth of faculty members, the department’s teaching staff
exceeded fifteen members in the academic year 2022–2023 across different specializations. In the same year, the
College of Education was divided into the College of Education for Humanities and the College of Education for
Pure Sciences, where our department is considered one of the most important in pure sciences.
I must also highlight the scientific and research achievements of our faculty members, who have published
outstanding research in reputable scientific journals and actively participated in numerous conferences, seminars,
and workshops both inside and outside the country.
With God’s guidance, we continue our journey.
