Under the patronage of the President of Al-Hamdaniya University, Professor Dr. Nash’at Mubarak Sliwa, and under the supervision of the Director of the Continuing Education Center, Assistant Professor Dr. Ahlam Dara Aziz, the Continuing Education Center, in collaboration with the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit and the Department of Biology at the College of Education for Pure Sciences, organized a workshop entitled:
“Eating Disorders and Their Impact on Mental Health.”

The workshop was delivered by Lecturer Hiba Nashwan Sami.

The workshop addressed several key topics, most notably:

Identifying the causes of eating disorders.

Explaining the relationship between eating disorders and mental health.

Discussing methods of diagnosis, treatment, and psychological support for individuals affected.

The presenter emphasized that food, which is a fundamental component of our lives, can become a source of internal conflict when associated with deep psychological issues. She concluded by affirming that achieving balance between the body and mind is essential to both mental and physical well-being.

The workshop witnessed active engagement from the attendees, who expressed great interest in the topics discussed and highlighted their importance in promoting both physical and mental health awareness.
