Under the patronage of the President of Al-Hamdaniya University, Prof. Dr. Nishat Mubarak Sliwa, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Education for Pure Sciences, Asst. Prof. Dr. Riyadh Mubarak Abdullah, the Department of Life Sciences at the college organized a scientific workshop on Thursday, 12 March 2026, entitled “Sustainable Afforestation and Its Role in Environmental Protection and the Promotion of Biological Security,” in conjunction with the National Afforestation Day.The workshop was delivered by the student Luay Ali Younis under the supervision of Lecturer Ran Abdul-Salam Hamed. The presentation addressed the importance of sustainable afforestation in reducing environmental pollution and improving air quality, in addition to its role in preserving biodiversity and enhancing biological security.The workshop was partially attended by the Dean of the College, Asst. Prof. Dr. Riyadh Mubarak Abdullah, and the Administrative Assistant Dean, Asst. Prof. Dr. Mumtaz Mati Manour, who praised the efforts made in organizing such scientific activities that contribute to spreading environmental awareness and strengthening the role of students in serving society and the environment.
