Scholarships and Cultural Relations Unit
Vision:
This unit seeks to communicate and follow up on instructions related to scholarships, fellowships, and scientific twinning agreements between our college and other universities, as well as informing the college staff of all instructions and directives received from the Scholarships and Cultural Relations Department at the university.
Mission:
The university is the eye of society, and advancing it is a moral responsibility that must be borne by everyone. No one has an excuse to evade carrying the burdens of this responsibility.
Objectives:
– Encourage faculty members to participate in international scientific conferences with research and papers, and to benefit from such participation in building constructive relations with peers in various countries.
– Engage with reputable Iraqi, Arab, and international universities to create scientific and cultural communication.
– Benefit from workshops and training courses held at different Arab and foreign universities, especially in scientific fields, to enhance the efficiency of faculty members and some government employees.
– Facilitate obtaining admission for students who have received scholarships or study leave at reputable universities by utilizing the memorandums of understanding signed between our university and those institutions.
– Host professors from abroad.
– Participate in awards, competitions, and conferences outside Iraq.
Tasks of the Scholarships and Cultural Relations Unit
1. Follow up on all letters and correspondences received from the Scholarships and Cultural Relations Department at the University Presidency as a liaison member
2. Circulate fellowships and scholarships received from the University Presidency to the academic departments within the college.
3. Collect and verify the data of applicants for fellowships and scholarships and ensure that the application requirements are met before submitting them to the presidency.
4. Follow up on study leave requests inside and outside Iraq for the college’s staff members.
5. Document the data of sponsored faculty members and maintain it regularly in coordination with the University Presidency.
6. Respond to official correspondences related to scholarships and cultural relations within the scope of the unit’s work
Achievements of the Scholarships and Cultural Relations Unit
1. Updating the data files of affiliates covered by scholarships and study leaves and auditing their files.
2. Organizing the application process for scholarships by simplifying the application procedures within the college.
3. Following up on several files of college affiliates to obtain extensions or complete scholarship requirements.
Work Guide for the Scholarships and Cultural Relations Unit
1. Incoming books: Registering incoming books from the University Presidency electronically and determining the responsible follow-up party.
2. Sorting and task distribution: Referring books to academic departments when necessary.
3. Receiving affiliates’ requests: Auditing the required documents before approval.
4. Official follow-up: Corresponding with the Scholarships Department at the University Presidency as a liaison member.
5. Electronic archiving: Saving electronic copies of all transactions in a special unit registry.
